Sirens!

Today began with an ominous weather forecast for Fort Worth-Dallas and throughout the day it appeared the worst was avoided. Rain interrupted practice twice and in the added half-hour session at 4:15 pm, the 83 and 84 were first on the track. Posting practice times that were 7th and 8th fastest for the go-or-go-home cars, both Brian and AJ were ready to race their way into Sunday's show. Then during tech inspection before 6 pm the worst came to be in the surrounding Tarrant, Denton and Dallas counties. The big storm with heavy rain and lightning brewed up, tornado warnings sounded, and hail as big as baseballs pounded the area. Texas Motor Speedway escaped the worse, but it was enough to cancel qualifying for good. The result for Red Bull Racing is mixed as the BV makes the show in 36th starting position (due to NASCAR's rules as a 2006 race winner) while the 84 goes home.

We need a pic of the new scheme! Couldn't really see in that one. Impressed that both cars were very even... We know the 83 can race to the front!

Man, sucks that AJ won't get to run laps this weekend. Glad that BV will be in though, glad to have at least one Team Red Bull car in the show.

So lets go get em BV and all of the 83 team!

Looks like they both had decent cars and had a really good chance of both making it (since they were running the exact same times!). Sorry that AJ never got the chance to show it. Go get em next week AJ - good luck to Brian tomorrow.
