Theory of Evolution

Well the evolution of the car's paint scheme (or livery if you hail from Europe) continues this weekend in Texas. Because of the mass call-out for the return of the stripes, we convinced the designers to bring them back to the front bumper. Call it a compromise. The hood, roof and back deck will remain stripe-less. The side design, which changed several races ago, gets a new addition with red rear wheels. There's been a few other tweaks here and there over the last several races if you have been paying attention. For instance, the roof colors for the 83 and 84 have been settled. And did you notice the Bull has a tail now? Before, it was a spike. Will Texas mark the end of the paint scheme's evolution, or will it continue? What's your theory?

Awesome job guys! Glad to see the stripes back on the front, this is the best paint scheme yet! The red rear wheel is for sure different but I think it will grow on me.

Any news on which or if all of the different paint scheme will be made into diecast cars?

I gotta say, this is a step back in the right direction! The last couple weeks the cars have looked far too bland. I still miss the stripes, but those red rear wheels are an awesome addition. Very clever!

I also would like to know if this new scheme will be diecasted.

This year as a whole is an evolution. Why should it end after only just a few short months.

I was just telling my wife- they should make the back rims red! I like it! I think the stripes on the hood took away from your logo, This is my favorite so far! Personally, I didnt like the silver version. Awesome!

I still like the stripes on the hood and top because when there are a lot of cars together, you can pick out the Red Bull car right away! What they have now is awesome, but like more stripes! Good luck this weekend Brian and AJ!

The stripes were good to pick the car out on TV. I think you really need to bring those back. Especially during the Shootout, it was very easy to spot the 83 in the big pack.

The striped paint job was still the best by far... the red wheel is a nice touch though.

I assume they got rid of the stripes to make the Red Bull logo and car number more visible... but I think you could keep the logo visibility along with the stripes by leaving a blue "cutout" border.

And like someone else said, the stripes made the car really noticeable in a pack, so I think the average person would pay more attention to the slick looking car.

this one looks the coolest! i like the red rim on the back and the stripe on the front bumper looks awesome! i didn't like the stripe on the hood because you couldn't read the logo from far, eventhough you know it's red bull, lol.

the car looks real nice.. reading some the comments before me, i start to imagine if TRB would bring a special scheme for the All-Star race. the Scuderia Toro Rosso scheme would blow people's mind away... NO DOUBT. but it'd be uber cooler if the designers come up with something even more creative.

I agree, a special scheme for the All Star race would be really awesome.

4 red wheels is Evernham---2 is unique to any team! Great idea TRB!

Maybe you could adjust the stripes so they don't touch the logo--kinda on the "corner" of the hood and side panel---ya know, the best of both worlds?

Just a thought...
