It Worked!
This morning AJ, along with the other Cup rookies, participated in a Raybestos Rookie Orientation to Martinsville with Ricky Rudd. They met out on the start/finish line this morning to ask questions and walk around the track's "tricky spots" - with Ricky giving his advice and secrets along the way. AJ must have learned something because he qualified for his second Cup race in a row with a lap time of 20.321. The #84 crew was holding their breath for the last go-or-go-home cars to make their qualifying laps to make sure AJ's lap time stuck. It did, and that locked him into the 40th starting position for Sunday's race. We do not know what advice Ricky must have given him, but it obviously worked.

You're a helluva driver, AJ. Way to go 84 Team! You'll get 'em at the next one 83...
Go AJ go!!! You did a great job. You sucked it up, and put your lap down. That was a huge improvement from the morning practice. Great job to your crew as well. Keep finding those tenths of a second. Good luck in truck qualifying today, and then the truck race, hopefully the rain holds off. Keep learning! Loving your progress! Good luck.
Congratuatlions to both AJ and the 84 Red Bull Team.
I am looking at Brian not making it as a blessing. He is still hurt and I would hate for it to get worse before it got better.
Ha! It was great watching AJ beat the gorilla in the shop. He knocked the hell out of it, and he didn't think he could. How funny.
How do you know he is still hurt? He said yesterday on TV he was fine. I don't think missing a race is a blessing, especially when they were so close to getting into the top 35. I don't understand that kind of thinking, if he was "hurt" he would have let someone else try and get that car in the race.
Good luck in your race tomorrow AJ and to the rest of your team. You are improving everytime you go out on the track. Im sure we will see both of these team making it in every race on a continuous basis very soon. Go TRB!!!
If someone else would have qualified the car, he would have had to start in the back, which could have been even more strenuous on him.
What are you talking about!?? I am sure sitting at home is much more strenious than not even being in the race!! Anyway, if he were "sick" someone else could race the car too, it is all about owner points! This doen't make any sense!
Good luck to AJ and the entire 84 Red Bull Team at Martinsville. Here's hoping for a great finish tomorrow.
By the way, Does anyone know if AJ has tried a Martinsville Hot Dog yet?
Good luck tomorrow AJ! I'm very sad BV didn't make it, but here's hoping for a wonderful finish for hte 84 team tomorrow.
AJ- Great job today in the truck! There are some real knuckleheads in the truck series and a couple of them found you at the end. Great run.
That truck race was one of the worst I have seen - half the drivers dont belong out there racing. Good job AJ - you had a great run going!!
Freaking lappers!
If Brian didnt want to race he would have asked for a replacement..I feel bad for him I was hoping he would make it..Im glad AJ did and is able to represent Team Red Bull in the race...lets just hope it doesnt end up like the truck race
GOOD LUCK IN THE RACE AJ!
What happened to the STRIPES???
We all like the stripes on the cars!
