Speed To Tackle Trucks

The developmental path has led Scott Speed to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. A full season in ARCA is one thing, but now Speed gets a turn behind the wheel of Morgan-Dollar Motorsports’ No. 46 truck.

Speed will go from truck racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway (March 7) to creeping along, bumping and grinding for position at Martinsville Speedway (March 29). Normally, he drives the No. 2 for Eddie Sharp Racing in ARCA — a series that that races on everything from Illinois dirt to Alabama asphalt. But ARCA doesn’t race at Atlanta, arguably the fastest 1.5-mile track in NASCAR Sprint Cup.

ARCA doesn’t race again until April 13, at the short track in Salem, Ind.

Will Scott be racing in more than 2truck races? If so, that will be so cool. Thanks for keeping us updated on Scott Speed.

Poor AJ...seems like he is getting pushed out of Red Bull. All the signs are there. He's a good race car driver and Red Bull is not giving him extra seat time to prove it. Its all about Scott.

I think we need to get a grip. RBRT seems to have learned from the "AJ experament". If you follow RB in motorsports, they seem very loyal to their drivers and I doubt they are looking to push AJ out...but why could they not add a 3rd car when the time comes? I think we can root for all of them.

I agree 83fanatic. It was stated last years that if and when RBRT adds a 3rd team it will not be sponsored completely by Red Bull. So RBRT has at least thought about adding a 3rd team.

Ya - they have the money to give speed a full time ARCA ride and then put him in the truck series. But they cant seem to find anything for AJ to run to get the experience. Seem really fair to me!
Im sure AJ loves being the "experament" that failed because a driver really needs seat time to learn.

You are calling AJ a faiure!? Did you watch him race the end of last year and in the 150 this season? He has come a huge way and is on the verge of a great stock car career. If you did any reading, his name was one of the hot names in the off season-people want this guy, he is not a failure- and did you notice who was in that truck on Sat?

It's not just about Red Bull having the money to put AJ in a ride. It has to be the right ride for him. They're not going to put him in a crappy ride where he's not going to learn anything. Remember how he drove some Busch races for Ganassi last year? Now that was a quality ride for him.

Mark my words - its time for AJ to shine along with everyone on the 84team! They havent had the chance to show it yet because of crappy luck this year, not fair to them, but out of their control. Starting with this weekend in Vegas!!!

I feel like Red Bull should have given the ride to AJ he did an awesome job last weekend in Cali. with what him and the guys were given. I hope AJ stays with Red BUll and Scott doesn't push him out, HE IS THE BEST ONE ON THE RED BULL TEAM! As of right now Red Bull may have thought about adding a 3rd team but, room at their shop doesn't really allow for that so if Scott were to move to NASCAR looks like a driver now might be out of a ride. KEEP AJ RED BULL1!!

Scott needs all the experiance he can get. This is good for Scott and Red Bull and should not be viewed as a negitive for AJ.

How some of those underfunded teams beat RBRT I do not understand. We are lucky the 83 made the show!

I think AJ is a cool guy, and he's a pretty good driver. But... I don't know. He's just very hit or miss. I really think RBR should give Scott Speed a chance in the 84.

I think AJ needs to go talk with Todd Braun for some seat time. seriously. I want to see him race.

and as for Scott Speed, I don't think AJ's misfortune should be his fortune. I don't like how some of you guys lost faith in AJ and are already talking about Scott coming in to replace him. but I like how Scott Speed is approaching stock car racing. I'm already a fan. Can't wait for him to race in a truck.

and as for BV, time for another solid finish!! :) RBRT only goes forward. I'm REALLY proud of the #83 team. I don't care where they start, they always improve their performance. keep it up guys, keep making more gains and soon the #83 will be setting the pace every weekend.

have a great race, guys.

I agree with Curt about AJ. He ran well in his duel during Daytona and it's not his fault that qualifying got rained out last week. It's to bad that AJ missed the race today but that team will bounce back.

83fanatic, the 83 team qualified 21st but because of a stupid NASCAR rule they start 43rd. So those underfunded team beat alot of well funded teams such as the most current champion
