Nationwide on Brian’s Side

Red Bull Racing Team’s Brian Vickers makes no bones about which car he prefers to drive, so Saturday’s season-opening Nationwide Series race at Daytona gave Vickers a break from one adventurous week — one that saw him solo skydive and two days later race his way into the Daytona 500.

“It was like Darlington out there, just sliding around in those Nationwide cars,” Vickers said after finishing fourth. Listen to him talk all about it in our audio section at redbullracingusa.com (click here).

Vickers, driving Braun Racing’s No. 10 Toyota, ran in the top 10 all afternoon. He was leading in the final laps before fellow Toyota drivers Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch teamed up and roared past. But a top five will do, especially when it comes the day before the 50th running of the Daytona 500 — the first time Sprint Cup’s new cars will race for points at Daytona.

Vickers’ No. 83 will roll of 23rd when the green flag waves at 3:30 p.m. ET.

great job!

When are you guys going to setup an online store to sell your stuff so I don't have to go to the racetrack to pick it up?

Do you have a store at the race shop?

BV had tire problems early in the race, that's why he had to pit. 12th isn't too bad considering everything that went on. Great job, everyone.

Absolutely fantastic finish as far as I'm concerned! Brian's name is listed on Nascar.com in the driver standings - 13th! On to California and a better finish and I'll see you in Las Vegas, Brian! Life is pretty darned good.

I was sooo proud of BV and the entire 10 and 83 teams this weekend. Both of them did an AMAZING job. BV drove his butt off yesterday, and I am so lucky I got to be there for that! On to Cali!

I totally agree...what a strong finish! I too was there and was just as proud as any Jr. Fan wearing my Red Bull 83/84 hat and shirt.
This is a great way to begin the year! Keep up the good work and have strong finishes the next four races and we will be sitting pretty in the top 35!

Speaking of new merchandise, I thought the new hoodies were nice but too generic. Just RBRT no driver #’s on any of the three.
However I really like my RBRT mouse pad! By chance will there be a RBRT soft sided cooler available in the near future?

Is there a place on this web site that we can get the new merchandise? If not.....where besides the race?
And if so....where do we look?

Good Luck this weekend to both 83 and 84 teams!

What do Daytona performances really mean? (From Fox.com)
The other two surprises were Brian Vickers, who finished 12th, and rookie Sam Hornish Jr., who finished 15th in his first trip to Daytona with Penske Racing.
Vickers, who missed the 500 last year with Team Red Bull, battled back from adversity throughout Speedweeks. He rallied from a lap down in the 500 to produce a strong finish.
Now Vickers goes to California, where he finished 10th last year. Could he be Toyota's biggest surprise this year?

We can only hope!!! Go get them this week RBRT!

Where are you finding the new hoodies and mousepad? The hoodies with only RBRT sound awesome I hate how most NASCAR teams have to put there numbers and names on everything.

Brian,
The only place I had seen the hoodies, etc. was at the merchandise trailer during the 500. Hopefully this merchandise will be available to order on line soon!
