Pullin' Double Duty
Brian and AJ are both pulling double-duty this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway - AJ in the Craftsman Truck Series and Brian in the Busch Series.
Wednesday night AJ raced in the O'Reilly 200 Truck Series race for Darrell Waltrip Motorsports. It was an up and down night under the lights for AJ and the No. 00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Tundra. After starting towards the back of the field in the 34th position, the truck went from very tight, to loose, and back to tight again as the track surface changed throughout the race. He encouraged the crew by telling them he was “going to keep fighting until the end.” Crew chief Jason Overstreet responded, “We’ll stay with you, you stay with us.” The No. 00 ended the day on the lead lap in the 21st spot. All in all it was a solid run – especially considering several late race incidents – and one in which AJ gained more lap time and experience in preparation for Saturday night’s NASCAR Nextel Cup race.
Tonight Brian will take on the high banking of Bristol against the other drivers in the Busch Series in the No. 10 Fort McDowell Resorts Camry for Braun Racing. Last week in Michigan Brian drove the No. 10 Fort McDowell Resorts Camry to a 6th place finish. Tune in to ESPN2 tonight at 8:00 pm to see Brian in action.

Brian's Busch car looks good. Hopefully they can get his Cup car looking stellar. I get so excited for the Bristol races. This will be the first time in two years that I will not be there cheering on Bria. By the way, Brian will go out 14th in Busch Qualifying. I haven't been able to find the Cup qualifying order yet. Good luck AJ and Brian!
WE BELIEVE!!!
Cup qualifying order:
AJ 20th
BV 23rd
Thanks for the info.
I find it hard to find out the qualifying order for the cup teams.
Good Luck to both the 83 and 84, lets get them in the race!!!!
Thank you Racing Bull. I was just coming to post that. I finally found it. LOL! Way to go keeping us all informed.
Brian's car isn't looking too good in practice but AJ laid down a few good laps. Hopefully the 83 team can make the right adjustments and get the car in the field, build on this momentum and get some very valuable points.
http://www.jayski.com always posts the cup qualifying order right away. hope that helps!
I'm just hoping Doug goes over and talks to Ricky about their setup. The 84 looked really good out there!
Fox sports also posts the cup and busch qualifying order as soon as it's available.
Lookin' good, AJ!!!!!!!!
AJ is currently 12th!
Both TRB cars bobbled a little bit. Brian is currently 17th. He isn't locked in or locked out.
Damn, Brian's out.
Well, this stinks! Michael Waltrip knocked Brian out of the show. Guess we'll be seeing him race tonight and then cheering for AJ tomorrow night.
Good job AJ.
The only good news about Brian missing the race is that the #00 won't gain on #83's position in owner points.
But the #10 and #21 will be a little further out of reach after this weekend.
Get 'em tonight Brian!
Major setback. All we can do is hope for some bad luck for the 33rd-36th place teams...I would have never dreamed that the #83 team would have been that far off...if they would have just backed up their practice speed they would have been in the show.
Congrats to AJ, good luck in the race.
So happy for AJ - been quite a dry spell for him. Guess racing the truck on Wed really helped him out. Go get em next week Brian!!
Lets be real people, the top 35 is over! I am the biggest Vickers fan there is but lets be real. Congrats AJ and the 84 team!
CANNOT BELIEVE THE 83 DIDNT MAKE THE RACE. I AM HAPPY FOR AJ. SEEN MOST OF PRACTICE AND THE 83 DIDNT LOOK GOOD . JUST FOUND OUT THEY DIDNT QUALIFY. GOOD LUCK 84 TEAM
shrub needs anger management!!
Have I told you how much I dislike Kyle Busch? That was uncalled for, and I'm really shocked that NASCAR let him keep racing. At least Brian got the last bump before his tire blew. I feel so bad for him. Definitly kicking a man when he is done. He had a good car. Just wish the commentators would have talked about him.
the #83 team can get the #84's owner points by the end of the year, right? if they add up the #84's owner points, they should be easily in the top 35.
Way to go AJ, Ricky, and the whole 84 crew. Good job this weekend. Keep that ball rollin'. Obviously doing a race before the race, really helps a rookie!! Novel idea! Good luck tonight 84 team.
Good Luck tonight AJ - cant wait to watch you race!! Congrats to your team - been tough on all of you im sure. Go get em tonight!
