Timmy takes on Black Rock

After a long, rainy day at Watkins Glen yesterday, AJ's spotter Tim Fedewa took on the dirt oval at Black Rocky Speedway in Dundee, NY last night. Frustrated by the rain that kept the No. 84 out of Sunday's race, he was on a mission to win.

The 2nd annual Spaulding Foundation Nextel Cup Driver's Challenge brought out many fans hoping to see some good racing and catch a glimpse of their favorite driver or NASCAR personality. Among the celebrity racers were Cup drivers Clint Boyer, David Reutimann and Jeremy Mayfield, crew chiefs Jimmy Elledge (#41) and Tommy Baldwin (#22), and SPEED reporters Bob Dillner and Rutledge. The event featured 2 match races - one between the cup driver's and crew chiefs driving the track's premier 358 Modifieds, and the other with NASCAR crew members racing each other in Late Model cars.

The celebrity race consisted of 12 laps in which Tim led the majority. In the end Jeremy Mayfield was able to pass Timmy on lap 10 and ultimately get the win. Tim still finished 2nd though - great job!

2nd place! Congratulations Timmy! Really wish we could see the 84 tomorrow on the track. Hopefully next weekend at MIS, we will. I'm just glad we got one Team Red Bull Toyota in the race. Keep your head up AJ and the entire 84 team. We all believe in you guys.

ogBlown transmission...we really let one get away today guys. With the 13 falling back, today was a chance for us to jump up on the 10. Here's hoping the 00 and 10 both have problems..We may just have to hope that the 70 and 45 keep slipping back to the 83 though. Good news was, we were in the race and got some form of points, so we'll take what we can get.

Once again ESPN falls short in covering the entire race. If it were not for Trackpass you wouldn't have any idea as why BV is out of the race.

I guess hind site being 20/20 the #83 should have gone into the garage to see if they could fix the problem enough to finish the race. It isn’t over until the fat lady sings!

Well, look at it this way...Brian didn't make the other road race, so 40 points or whatever is better than nothing. If they keep making races and build momentum, the points will come. The end of the season is full of 1 1/2 mile triovals, which have been Team Red Bulls best tracks this year. We'll close the gaps folks, mark my words.

look at it this way if they inverted the field he would have finished 3rd....just looking on the bright side

OH DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE RACE NEXT WEEK AT MICHIGAN IS A COT RACE?

Michigan is not a "Car of Tomorrow" race. Thank Goodness! I know these are the cars we have to see fulltime next season, but I just don't like them. I'm glad they are safe, but they look just plain ugly!

Does anyone know where this puts the #83 in owner points? I read on the web (because ESPN never mentioned what happened) that the #22 now has to qualify because of a blown engine and finishing 35th which puts them 36th in the owner standings. They have been fast latley.
Good luck at Michigan TRB!

The 83 Team is 39th right now but that also includes the 13 team in front of him so really it's 38th. You can get that information at www.race2win.net

Jayski.com has the owner's points up pretty regularly. Brian is 38th 331 behind the 21 in 35th.
