Knockin' on Heaven's Door
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup 1 through 35 owner’s points = HEAVEN. 36 and beyond = HELL. On a race weekend like Texas when qualifying gets rained out, being in the top 35 in points proves to be all the more important. Starting 36th today as a 2006 race winner, Brian Vickers drove another solid run to finish 14th on the lead lap, even leading two green flap laps (100-101) along the way. While closing the gap, the No. 83 still sits 5 spots and 65 points outside the coveted top 35 in owner’s points, which guarantees a grid slot for the next race. Meanwhile, AJ Allmendinger and the No. 84 car, out of the top 35, never got the chance to qualify on Friday due to the tornado-spewing thunderstorm and had to sit out this one again.

Check your math Bull Spotter, Racing One has BV 83 at 37th, not 40th
woops, now he's at 39th...
not bad for a hybrid driver i know you wont print this but still not bad
Owner points are different from driver points...Either way, great job...The #83 is the only Toy that is not a backmarker on the downforce tracks (until AJA makes a race!)
Great combination team effort by Brian, pit crew and all involved. Congratulations!
Get with it anonymous. Driver points and owner points are two different things.
Nice run today 83 team! It was great to see you out there leading 2 laps.
Keep up the good work and good luck at Phoenix!

i think that brian has proven time and time again that he is an amazing driver! who knows how great he would have been if he had driven another car at hendrick --- that poor #25 team!
Way to go Brian and Team 83! Great job with the quick pits and "Lucky Dog". Can't wait to see you in the top 35. Go get 'em at Phoenix!
