BV: Mr. Extremist
BV, the No. 83 driver who sits 11th in the Sprint Cup standings, completed his first solo skydive earlier this month with the Red Bull Air Force. On Thursday, he took on air racing. Vickers rode in the "Red Bull Edge" — an aerobatic aircraft piloted by 2006 Red Bull Air Race World Series champion Kirby Chambliss, whose flying style is described as aggressive yet smooth. It’s a good thing the 48-year-old Chambliss has won five U.S. National Aerobatic championships, because the Edge can climb 3,700 feet per minute and reach speeds up to 265 miles per hour.
The Edge is a two-seater, and Vickers rode up front. At times, Chambliss gave Vickers the chance to control the plane because BV’s seat had passenger controls. Unlike most passengers, BV is used to feeling g-forces, so he didn't lose his lunch, but he admitted - it was one wild ride!

Keep the stories coming! Like to read about the drivers.
BV just set a new track record in Nationwide qualifying today at Vegas. Shrub still has to go out but it looks like a good start today! Way to go BV!!!
Vickers right now on pole in nationwide series!!!
he officially has the pole!! great job to brian and his team!!
great job on the pole. it's been awhile :) and BV's 3rd track record i believe.
Now that is awesome. I'm so jealous of BV. I've always wanted to take a ride in one of those planes.
Congratulations on getting the pole for the Nationwide race. Keep up the good work!
WE BELIEVE!
My day can't get any worse! First, Marquette lost by 2 OT (I was there in the student section, we were not happy) and now BV crashed out of today's race!! Good luck tomorrow BV and the #83 team!! Keep up the good work!!!
well.. i guess the #83 won't be taking 2 tires tomorrow.
ESPN has dumb commentators in my opinion. i was just laughing at their stupidity after BV said he lost the brakes when he was on pitroad. Andy says "that's weird spot to lose your brakes, in turn 2 where you're exiting the corner". how stupid can you be.
anyways, that was a good laugh. it's unfortunate, but i'm sure BV learned something from that 2 tire run.
go get them on sunday, guys. time for another solid finish.
Better bad luck today than Sunday...
