Release the Hounds
The No. 83 recently earned its first victory of the season, only the win came on the hunting fields of North Carolina rather than 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway.
On Oct. 29, Red Bull Racing’s director of competition, Elton Sawyer, spent his Saturday afternoon at the Yadkin Valley Hunt Club, where folks ride horses and hunt fox. Ten hunting hounds were “auctioned” off to help the club raise money. Bidders, of course, did not keep the dogs.
Using a NASCAR theme, each hound was numbered with a little shoe polish. There were the Nos. 83, 84, 9, 07 and 88, among others. Sawyer saw something in one pooch and let his money ride.
“After the weekend at Kansas,” Sawyer said, “I felt like the 83 was due. So I put my money on the 83.”
A fox scent was scattered around a course about the length of a furlong or two, and the hounds were cut loose to race. Guess who came in first? That’s right — the No. 83, with the No. 84 earning a podium position in third.
The auction earned nearly $1,200 worth of kibble. Check out some images at www.yadkinvalleyhounds.com.

Glad to hear the #83 is winning something. Hopefully it will transfer to this weekend’s race! For those interested Vickers will be on Inside Nextel Cup tonight on Speed.
that (Vickers on INC tonight) probably should have been written in the blog...sometimes I wonder...
I actually think he'll be on there next week. I havent seen anything mentioned about it this week.
no vickers on INC...I'm certain that TRB would have let us know.
Inside Nextel Cup
The first COT Race on a Supersperspeedway took place in Talladega this weekend with a thrilling finish.
Catch Inside Nextel Cup on Monday, October 8th, 2007 at 8 pm. Host Dave Despain will be joined by drivers Greg Biffle, Ken Schrader, and Brian Vickers as they recap the Talladega race. Inside Nextel Cup, Mondays at 8 pm eastern on SPEED.
I guess the website on SEED was wrong. Too bad, I would rather see Brian or anyone else besides Waltrip!
I think Vickers will be on INC next week 'cause Biffle get married and said he would not be on the show next week. So, maybe it will be Vickers in his seat. (just guessing)
Go Team Red Bull this weekend!!! Can't wait to see you both race on Friday night and hope you both race Sat. night also. Will be at the race watching!!
Just now, I was reviewing the entry list for this weeks Busch race and BV isn't on the list. Can anyone shed some light on this? Go get 'em boys!
BV's it says he will not be racing in the Busch race
Sorry on BV's website it says he will not be racing in the Busch race
FYI I called TRB this morning and they told me the shop is not really open for visitors yet. She said it would be open around Dec.1. But, the receptionist said I was welcome to come get a can of Red Bull though :-)
So no Bush race this week. I thought someone posted he would be in the #32? I know things can change or it is just hopeful thinking but does anyone know if BV will be racing anymore Bush races for the rest of the season?
BV will be in the Busch series for Phoniex and Texas. As for the Speed website, they have been wrong the last two weeks on who is suppose to be on INC. To get the accurate info, watch Wind Tunnel on Sunday nights. About halfway through the show, it tells you who will be on INC. Also last night Dave did say that Vickers will be filling in for Biffle so no one has to wonder about that one.
Thanks for the info Krystle! Do you know if BV will be racing the Bush race in Atlanta?
It doesn' sound like it. Brianvickers.com only listed Phoniex and Texas.
Brian was not on Inside Nextel Cup this past Monday. His next Inside Nextel Cup appearance will be this Monday, October 15th following the Charlotte race.
