Top 10 Reasons...

...why Red Bull Racing is gung-ho for Kansas:

10. Our first top five came at a 1.5-mile track.
9. There’s nothing quite like a Kansas City strip steak.
8. More time to work out the kinks in our COTs.
7. One week closer to Scott Speed’s ARCA debut.
6. We’re off to the see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz.
5. Kansas City has the cleanest tap water in the United States.
4. Britney Spears is not making a comeback appearance.
3. It’s not tornado season.
2. We’ll arrive just in time to catch “The Office” premier.
1. We want ringside seats for Petty-Hamlin II.

Busch Update:
Where there’s purple, there’s AJ Allmendinger. He’ll drive Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 42 Memorex Dodge (you can’t miss it) in Saturday’s Busch Series race at Kansas Speedway. Brian Vickers, the 2003 Busch champion, returns to Braun Racing’s No. 10 Toyota for the Yellow Transportation 300.

My #1 reason to see Red Bull on another 1.5 mile track - I think we may be good enough to get the first Red Bull win. BV runs the intermediate tracks very well and AJ is coming around. None the less, until we get past qualifying my stomach will be in knots until about 6 0'clock Friday. Go get 'em boys!

MY #1 reason is to see BV and AJ race in person this week. Another top reason is to see two wins this weekend by BV. BV is coming off of his best career start and finish at Kansas last year. I be their to cheer on by boys this weekend. Hopefully the RAIN will stay away on Sunday right now their calling for a 70% chance of RAIN on Sunday.RAIN RAIN go way and come back some other day. This weekend is for Our boys to Shine in the Heartland. Go Gettem BV and AJ!

We Believe in You BV and AJ

GO Team Red Bull

Hey lovinbv83... I just checked the CNN extended weather forecast for the track area in Kansas and it is showing a prediction of 'cloudy' on Sunday - not rain. Also in favor of no rain is the forecast of sunny days on Saturday and Monday. I'm hopeful. We've certainly had enough rain mess with this season already. Go get 'em boys!

Someone from this blog was at the Carl Edwards signing in Liberty tonight....Custom made grey hoodie with air brushed wings on the back and a giant 83 on the front. I know they post here....COME FORWARD AND I WILL REVEAL WHO I AM

Yes Criag it was lovinbv83. Yes I was at the signing tonight. Carl by the loved the Shirt. Carl also said that BV is one heck of a nice guy too.

I was the guy about 7 people behind you in the morning saying stuff like "Carl is a cheater" and "don't make me go kyle petty on your ass" It was too early in the morning for me to be socially inept. I was wearing a Seattle Seahawk hat and draped in a green blanket much like a cape.

What was that??? How can you go from first to last among the go or go homers??? It's really starting to get old, not having anyone in a race to root for.

Bye Bye to any chance of the 35.

Daannnnng!!!...did we hit a time warp or something. I never saw that coming. I guess this means we're a "shoe in" for Talladega, Martinsville and Phoenix with the COT...the tracks I've been worried about. We can't miss another race and have any chance at the top 35. I ain't giving up. Got get 'em boys!

Shoot even if they make the rest of the races this year, BV is still going to have to win like 2 races to even have a shot at the top 35. This is like Chicago all over again.

2:53 PM

I DONT BELIEVE THIS!!!

2:54 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Soo.. What happened? Can someone explain what went wrong today, how did Brian go from 13th fastest in practice to DNQ? We want to hear the good and the bad.

2:57 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I thought that they could miss one COT race and still get top 35. I didn't think they could miss a non COT race. This is lethal to their top 35 chances. At least this gives them a chance to experiment with the COT with no risk. Unless the 45, 22, 21, and 10 have horrible days on Sunday (35th place or worse), we are all going to be on pins and needles come February.

I just don't see how they could have been that bad on qualifying...both the #83 and #84...it's unreal.

3:34 PM

I think maybe something broke in practice. Another reason why is because he qualified early.

What the !&*#. How did he not make the race!!!!!!

3:37 PM

I'm sorry but I don't think going out 19th was that early, later than the last couple races. I'm sure we are all looking for an excuse, I just don't buy that one.

If when they went out to qualify made a difference then AJ should have been in. Sorry - dont believe that had anything to do with it.

Unbelievable!! This is almost an absolute joke that this happened. We've been so consistent with qualifying the fast few weeks, not to mention that the last time we qualified with the old cars, we had no problems making the race, there's no excuse for this result.

And with Talladega next week, I have high doubts seeing either BV or AJ making that race too, considering how poor we've been on superspeedways this year. As has been said, kiss any shot of making the owners' points away now, cuz that's GONE!!

*sigh* Not even if both guys have a good race in the Busch series tomorrow am I gonna be able to have any chance of feeling good this weekend. What a letdown.

Well guys BV siad the car was really good at the end of the practice session. He was happy enough that they quit like 5 to 10 minutes early. He was super fast in the Busch Car in both practices. I talked to BV for a few minutes after the Busch final practice and he seemed to be in good spirts. He had his usual smile on his face.

Yeah, this sucks. So...who gets fired now?

6:21 PM

lovinbv83... How is it you have access to speak to BV and get some inside info? Was this because you were at the track or do you have some connection to the team? Go get 'em boys!... in the Busch race that is.

7:19 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow, want to know what's worse than watching both TRB teams miss the race on TV? Watching them miss the race in person.

It's about time we seeked out some answers, I don't like this "let's get them next week!!" attitude. Brian has 4 top 10 finishes this season - Cali, Mich, Char, and Cali again. All 1.5 miles. How does something like this happen? Early qualifying? That's crap! The 4 and the 22 both went out BEFORE us and were both faster.

This team needs to wake up. Momentum is great and all, but momentum alone does not make races. Am I saying that they were not prepared for this weekend? Of course not, but how else can you explain being the fastest of the go or go homers to being the slowest (Jon Wood does not count). It's inexcusable and I will not accept early qualifying draws or "track was slicker" as an excuse. The track was the same for nearly everyone and we just didn't have our shit together.

HEY CRAIG JUST WHO IN THE HELL ARE YOU TO RUN YOUR MOUTH.DO YOU WORK FOR THE TEAM IF NOT YOU HAVE NO PLACE TO RUN YOUR TRAP.

He's a TRB fan! He's a disappointed TRB fan. Let him speak his mind. I feel the same exact way he does. I bet a lot of us do. Enough is enough. They should've made this race. Period. Compared the time BV practiced with the lap time in qualifying. WTH man. I'm very disappointed.

10:36 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'll tell you exactly who I am, I'm a fan. A fan who knows we're better than this, but instead of being all namby pamby about saying "well, good luck next week guys" I want answers. I paid my money for a ticket not just to see a race this weekend, but to see the driver, and team I like race. They gave me every indication that was going to happen. Instead of excuses, I want answers. I pay for the merchandise, I wear it, and I stand in lines for autographs just like all the other die hards. Is it too hard to believe that maybe I'm just a little sick of all of this?

Can you honestly say to me that the 49 team is a better run team than the 83 team? Are you going to try and convince me that the 78 team is an all around better driver and group that the Vickers and the TRB crew? We all know the answers to these questions, so why on qualifying day we see a different story? There is absolutely no reason we should have missed this race.

If you want to blindly believe that the qualifying draw had something to do with us missing the field today, that's fine, but you and everyone else who reads and posts on this blog know that isn't the answer.

Savannah he was signing a few autographs after Busch happy hour last night and that is when I talked to BV.

Criag I know what you feel like to. I was there too. I for surly thought that both Red Bull's would make the race after they were so good in practice. But after that disappointement I am happy that I will at least see both of them run in the Busch race today. I was hoping to get to see them both in the Cup race for my first offical NASCAR races this year, but one race is better then none.

Craig, what can you do? You said it yourself, the team is good enough. Sometimes we forget that even an underbudget team has pro's who build, work on and drive their cars. I was as shocked as anyone about yesterday but what do you suggest? They blow up the team? Or is it better to swallow the bitter pill and pull together to fix it. I see how other teams are doing, firing people every few weeks. It sucks for us, but it is their life.

5:56 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

craig... take a deep breath, man. Yeah, none of us TRB faithful are none to happy about missing a race, especially when all indications were we'd have both teams in - not out. But, when it comes to a detailed explanation, I don't believe being a "fan" earns such information. Now, if I were a sponsor - yeah - I'd expect answers right away. But, as a fan I can wait to hear what the driver and team have to say and more importantly, how they intend to make sure it doesn't happen again. We've made some decent gains this year amidst the various setbacks. In time I believe TRB will put it all together and we'll get to root at every race. Hang in there. Go get 'em boys!

This is only a minor set back. I do believe that TRB will be okay in 'Dega. The Toyota motors actually make a lot of power. The problem so far at the superspeedways has been the design of the body. Given that the COT is identical across the board, it really just comes down to power. I don't think the 83 will get in the top 35 by the end of the season, but I'm sure they'll be there by the end of the first 5 races next year. Once they get there, they'll stay there. BV will be a legitimate title contender by the end of the decade.

Bull Spotter- Any chance that TRB could release a fresh post with a little info for all of us die-hards on days where we fail to qualify? It's tough enough going through a Sunday and not being in the race, but not hearing what the problem was, or even a few words from BV or Doug about the car is agonizing. Also, will ther ever be a TRB forum area where we can get a little more inside information from you guys?

LOL!! Thanks for showing yourself, Anonymous Gangsta. I'd join in, but I'm not sure mice can be gangsta.

As for the other stuff, I have to agree with Savannah David. As a fan I understand being frustrated when you don't get to see your team, but the first year is going to be difficult for anyone. And it's true that we spend a ton of money as fans, but that doesn't necessarily buy us a right to demand answers.
