Seasons Greetings from Santa

Santa came early to Mooresville on Friday, as Red Bull Racing Team opened its doors to employees and their families for the annual Christmas get-together.

Veteran road crew worker Pete Wright (above) fills out a Santa suit quite well, and he made his way around the room for a Ho, Ho, Ho meet and greet with all the children. He carried candy canes for the kids and gag gifts for a few grown-ups.

With Santa’s elf and facilities manager Mike Good serving as the slick auctioneer, items helped raise more than $5,000 for an area foster care effort. No. 83 crew chief Ryan Pemberton won the raffle for a sheet-metal table, put it up for auction and won that same auction for $500. Other items raffled or auctioned off included sliver and blue car hoods, a tool box, two flat-screen TVs, Red Bull artwork and various gift certificates.

“This officially marks the end of the 2008 season,” Jay Frye, vice president and general manager, closed by saying.

Good thing, because the Daytona 500’s only 56 days away.

How about getting some product next year that a normal NASCAR fan would like? I don't want to travel to the Eiffel Tower to get my Euroupean influnenced NASCAR gear for the 83. C'mon Y'all. Let get with the region you're racin' in. PUMA is somethin' I'd shoot and put on the BBQ.

Allright then.

Whatever you do RBRT do not listen to Anon (you need to learn about some fashion anon). Your gear is the best in NASCAR and it is actually wearable outside of the race track unlike every other teams gear!

No joke.

Anon 7:57 might like wearing the same exact gear whether he's a 48, 18, or 99 fan, but the rest of us like swag with a sense of style that isn't a carbon copy of 30 other teams' hats & shirts.

I had to buy a 48 hat & a 88 shirt while in Kansas, and both times their merch crew commented on how much better the Red Bull gear looked then then interchangeable licensed crap.

I only spent $200 at the souvie trailer this year, but I'd have gladly doubled it if I had the cash.

My wife, A 48 fan, constantly complains that the stuff she can buy is not classy enough...She always likes the RB stuff...Don't change a thing!
