Now the Grind Really Begins

Twelve races in and with June right around the corner, the dog days of summer are nearly here.

The Sprint Cup Series is beginning one of the more unenviable stretches of the 36-race season. This weekend it’s Dover. The next is Pocono. The one after that is Michigan.

Hardly anyone looks forward to visiting these venues, but “this is when you separate the men from the boys,” said Elton Sawyer, the competition director at Red Bull Racing Team. “The 83 is still right there. They are 21st in points, but they are in contention. We’re optimistic and excited about our cars. They’ve shown a lot of speed and have been competitive. The 83 can make a run to get in the Chase. That’s a legitimate goal for those guys. The 84 guys are making some strides. We still need to get better and get that car in the top 35, but the team as a whole is improving.

“Yes, the next couple of months, June and July, is the grind. It’s really important to be well prepared.”

The two Red Bull Toyotas were near the top of the speed charts throughout Friday’s practice at one-mile Dover International Speedway. They’ll qualify for the Best Buy 400 at 3:10 p.m. ET.

Let's go boyz. Let's have another awesome run this weekend. Let's go make the Chase BV and the 83 team. AJ and the 84 team your creeping closer and closer each week to the top 35. Team red Bull is the hottest team in the NASCAR garage right now in my opinion. WE BELIEVE in u BV,AJ, and Team Red Bull. Go GET'em Boyz

We are on a roll and things are definitely looking up. Just need to keep those wheels rolling and attached to the car.
Go BV and team 83.

Yeah. I have to agree with the comments above. While every team has set-backs every now and again, both teams are developing a nice rhythm as they coninue their progress forward.

On a side note (not having found a better place to ask this), I was wondering if there was any more new news on Red Bull Racing Team’s online store. Not being able to make it to the track (and I know that the trailer only makes it to certain tracks) it would be a welcome addition for those of us that can't find any new merchandise for our drivers and teams.

Yeah, it will be there, Amzy. It was there in the Spring! They have some really nice stuff... a whole lot better than the cheap Chase stuff. I bought two shirts and an autographed 'Dinger hat!

Good job, 83 & 84!
