Marco, Danica or Dixon?

Who will take home the Borg-Warner trophy (above)? Red Bull Racing Team’s panel of motorsports experts predict the winner of Sunday’s 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500.

AJ Allmendinger, No. 84 driver, says Scott Dixon. The ex-Champ Car driver keeps abreast on the daily happenings at Indy. “I miss it,” he said. “I have friends over there.” Not to mention Dixon is on the pole.

Kevin Hamlin, No. 83 crew chief, says Marco Andretti. Kevin put on his specs, glared at the 33-car grid and the name just came to him.

Rick Viers, No. 84 crew chief, says Justin Wilson. Only because Wilson was AJ’s teammate in Champ Car.

Jay Frye, VP and general manager, says Marco Andretti. The boss goes with the Andretti who just missed winning in 2006.

Elton Sawyer, competition director, says Danica Patrick. He may be trying to earn a few points with his wife, former NASCAR driver Patty Moise.

John Probst, technical director, says Scott Dixon. John knows a thing or two about open-wheel racing. He once was program manager for Ford Racing Technology’s Champ Car campaign.

At Lowe’s: Saturday’s a busy day. Sprint Cup has two practice sessions (2:45 and 6 p.m. ET) before the Nationwide Series race at 7:30. Check out Brian Vickers in Braun Racing’s No. 10 Toyota.

At Mansfield: Driving Bill Davis Racing’s No. 22 Toyota, Scott Speed starts sixth in the Craftsman Truck race at the half-mile oval (1 p.m., Speed).

My pick for the 500 is Dan Wheldon. No one picked him. I'm sad! Congrats to BV for getting the Nationwide Pole for the Carquest Auto Parts 300.

I also pick Dan Wheldon. Oh and btw, BV's pulling the weekend sweep. I just realized that I have psychic powers.

lol, well no not really, but the chances are huge. If it brings any luck to the #83 team, last night I won an online Sim Race (NR2003) at the track (BumpDraftin Superspeedway) where I made my first online racing start.

BV made his Cup debut at Charlotte. See where I'm getting at? ;)

Great run in the Nationwide race. A pole and top 5 finish in a car your not running every week is pretty darn good. Great pit stops from the 83 pit crew!!!
We can hope for the same finish tonight or possibly the win!
Good luck tonight BV and let’s hope for a mechanical free race!

I'm getting really sick of this.. this is the 3rd time Brian loses a race at Charlotte that he was dominating.

WoW, I was pretty upset when the wheel came off the car and ended the day. Then I saw the interview with BV and realized if anyone should be upset it should be him. My Husband commented what a great spokesman he is, he never said anything negative about his crew and in fact reminded everyone that they were the best and just won the pit crew challenged. He is a Great representative for Red Bull and NASCAR. Even though we didn’t win or even finish the race I’m proud to be an 83 fan!

Anonymous---I agree with you! I'm VERY proud to be a BV/Red Bull 83 ran! Listening to the scanner, Brian was very supportive of the crew, through the stops and on TV. Plus it doesn't sound like it was their fault...they had them tight, but for some reason, they wouldn't stay that way. The one that finally let go was the 3rd one of the night.
It's crappy, but I'm still proud of our boyz! Things will go their way soon!

WE BELIEVE!!!

BV seemed to be confident that they can have more strong runs like they did tonight. That interview was pretty good.

Great top 20 finish for the 84 team; a good confidence builder. This team will just get stronger and stronger. Good job everyone at Team Red Bull!!

AJ & team - nice top 20!

Yes - BV was very well spoken in that interview, but from what I can remember, it seems like he's always been that way.

What probably happened was that the guys changing the tires got the lug nuts tight, but as the car went around the track, the lugnuts worked themselves loose. Once loose, they stripped the threads on the bolts, making it impossible for the lugnuts (and wheel) to stay on. Why? I dunno, but man... Bummer night for those guys.

Good Luck testing BV and AJ!

Let's go get'em BV and the 83 team at Dover to put the Coke 600 behind us. I say fix that hot rod up and take it back to Lowe's in October.

I feel for Vickers, but I have to give an "atta boy" to AJ. He worked his butt off for his 20th place finish. By comparison, AJ was strong enough to run in the top 10 all night long, but his car was too sensitive in traffic.

All in all, RBR is improving right before our eyes. And I'm loving it!

Go get 'em next weekend!
