Racing to Play

Whether they’re racing to win or Racing to Play, our pit crew is known for busting their butts. Last week, Brian and the #83 crew sweated it out for 6 hours for Tony Stewart’s “Racing to Play” charity. The crew built one heck of a playground – a $33,000 playground (no joke!) - for a local shelter for battered women and their children. Almost 200 volunteers were on-site dragging and raking mulch, building swing sets, piecing together playground parts, mixing and pouring cement, and building a rock climbing wall (the #83 guys took that project over). Get eight guys together and you’re bound to get frat party-like jokes. Overheard between the pit crew and Brian were, “Hey Brian, be careful with those piano hands,” and “I’ve gotta watch these money-makers (Aaron Schields referring to his hands).” A big thanks to Shaun Peet, Eric Groen, Mike Metcalf, Doug Newell, Dustin Necaise, Aaron Schields, Phillip Norris, and Brian Vickers. Your mom’s would be proud.

Good job on the playground! I know the kids will love it. I really liked the segment on NASCAR Race Day about the playground and Riki Rackman's coment to BV about shaving.

Good luck this weekend!

They mentioned this on Race Day. I think it's great. Definitly a good way to give back to the community.

Good luck this weekend to both teams.

even tho we had travelled from Nebraska...and yes I would have liked more time with the "boy" I was even more proud of the team volunteering to build the playground. It is still true "it is better to give than to receive"
So proud of all these young men. Keep it up!. FOCUS- Follow one course until successful!
Keep Diggin!.... Blessings Momma "Sharon O" Schields

Nice work Red Bull team! Your fans are proud as well.

(A quick question: Does anyone know if the Red Bull shop happen to have a "viewing window" as some shops do, where fans might be able to come stare at the cars?)

Mouse, I was up there earlier this year and they didn't have anything for fans. I don't know if that has changed but you might try giving them a call.

Nope they still have nothing for fans to see or buy. I had heard that they were trying to work on that.
