84 Bull on Track

Here’s something you just don’t see at Daytona – a shot of empty grandstands. There was hardly a fan in the stands watching today’s Cup practice at Daytona, but come the Daytona 500 – you won’t be able to spot a vacant seat in the house nor a square foot of empty space in the infield. Around 200,000 NASCAR fans show up for the Daytona 500. When AJ caught wind of that, he thought he’d pop into Daytona and get some practice in before the big day. At press time (or would we call it blog time?), AJ was turning steady lap times in the #84 Bull and cruising just about six tenths off the fastest lap time – not bad for a rookie. Testing resumes tomorrow morning so check back in for updates...

I know Brian is going to be running in the Bud Shootout, so will Dale Jarret, Bill Elliot is available to run in it also because of being a previous winner. Would Red Bull be smart to put Elliot in the 84 for the shootout to get more information?

I think Bill Elliott is in the Toyota for R&J Racing. He is testing with them this week, and they worked out a deal for the Shootout, Duals, and 500.

Hey anonymous. The Bud Shootout doesn't even count towards championship points. The teams aren't out there trying to gather info from the race. It's just a race for fun that's meant to entertain fans. Same as the Allstars race. There'd be no point in putting Bill Elliott in the car.

I was just thinking that it would be good information for Toyota Racing Development, because that will be the first and only race before the all important qualifying racing, my bad
