Speed on Nationwide Pole

Scott Speed wasted no time in getting up to speed in the Nationwide Series. He’ll start his first Nationwide race from the pole, turning a lap at 182.451 mph during Saturday morning’s qualifying session.

Speed, in the No. 99 Red Bull Toyota, is making his Nationwide Series debut with Michael Waltrip Racing in today’s Sam’s Town 300. Speed’s schedule calls for 13 Nationwide races this season, with the next coming March 21 at Bristol.

His teammate at Red Bull Racing Team, Brian Vickers, starts 10th in Braun Racing’s No. 32 Toyota.

Awesome job for Scott. Wish we could have seen him race more. But hey, at least he lead 2 laps.

I wish BV was running the full season in the Nationwide series. Great job by the pit crew (again). I'm not surprised.

Maybe you should address your negative comments about the pit crew to Braun Racing since I believe that crew comes from Braun, not Red Bull.

Who says he's not? Curt's not the kind of member who goes around slandering the wrong person.

Dude, I'll be completely honest, I jumped off my chair and started to cuss when I saw the mistake. I really hope they turn things around soon. I'm not sure if it's the same crew from the Cup side, but I wasn't really referring to that. The #32 pit crew hasn't been as good their competition has. They're choking under pressure.

Brian did his part and the crew didn't. It just really sucks :(

It is a Braun crew and they have been bad this year. Hopefully they can figure it out

Great run today. I'm extremely proud of Brian and the team. This was not a finish I was anticipating. I would have been happy in the top 20, but to come home 8th was a real pleasure.

Good job Scott on the 21st place finish as well.
