On The Road Again...

Somewhere, heading west to Phoenix is the motorcoach of Mike and Angie Skinner. They don’t bother with private aircraft to get from place to place. Rather the Skinners do travel the old-fashioned way. "When we did Cup full time, there are so many demands on your time … sponsor, team and media," Mike Skinner said. "You cherish every day that you’re sleeping in your own bed." The bed, in the case, is on wheels. "While we’re going down the highway, she’s on the Internet finding cool places to go," Skinner said. "We’ve seen a lot of the country. I’ve played great golf courses, gone to great restaurants." Some of the Skinners’ favorite stops along the way include Coopers Rock, W.Va., Nashville, Tenn., and Tombstone, Ariz.

Good Luck this weekend Mike, hope your travels went well to AZ. Hope you're in the race this weekend with Brian. Good Luck to Both Red Bulls!

Does anyone know when they go out tonight?
This Blog should post it after the draw.

No rain.....just HOT

Brian goes out 25 and Mike goes out 40th. With only 45 cars in the show, 2 will be going home. Good luck to BV, Mike, and the entire Red Bull Racing Organization.

WE BELIEVE!

the speed chart looks good for the #83. they're around the RCR guys, actually ahead of them. hopefully the #83 will be better on consistency than them.

we know the RCR guys are very good here.

Hopefully the 83 won't start far back this week. It'll be harder to pass and it could be a real struggle if we start in the 30s.

I hope to the-god-I-don't-believe-in that the 84 team can stay finish on the lead lap. Does anyone remember the last time that happened?

lol, AJ's 15th place finish at Charlotte maybe? I can't recall either. I would've put AJ in the #84 this week. only 45 cars attempting. =/

It seems really strange that Mike is in the car in Phoenix. Why is that? AJ was supposed to be back in the car this week. His tests at Phoenix were excellent. He was 3rd fastest! Really really strange. We are so anxious for AJ to be back in the car at Talledega! We look forward to seeing you back AJ!!

I found it over at Race2Win.net

They also have information on 1st practice, as well as the Red Bull Racing Notes for PIR. Glad I was able to help.

Enclosing a link to Mike Skinner's Qualifying Quotes:

http://www.race2win.net/wc/08/race/pir/tqq.html

He mentions how his work isn't done when AJ gets back in the car.

Nine of the ten toys in the field had quotes on race2win.net abt qualifying. One didn't, why nothing from the 83?

They never interview everyone, usually just the top performers.

Well, I think the 84 team is way behind the 83, and the only reason the car even is in the race is because of Mike Skinner. Sorry to bust your bubble AJ fans, but I do not think he is ready for this level of racing yet. I don't think the 84 will make the race at 'Dega without Skinner driving it. He is one of the best qualifiers in Nascar. Good luck to you guys though, because I think this is a great overall team and you all seem like fantastic fans. Don't get me wrong, I like AJ, I just think he is not ready for Cup racing.

wth are you talking about? AJ can easily make Talladega. last year there were a bunch of Toyota's trying to qualify for the race. AJ qualified in the top 10 last year and had to go home. today the #84 has less competition, less TRD engines to beat.

So if the 84 team is that far behind the 83 and the only reason they are in the race is because of Skinner - what does that have to do with AJ? Maybe that explains why AJ hasnt made races. The 84 TEAM needs to be better. Having Mike in the car only shows us that you cant try and put all the blame on AJ here. Mike may be a better qualifier, but the car has not been competitive on race days. I think thats a proven point - regardless who the driver is!

Curt,

You need to re read your comments. You make NO SENSE....IF he qualified in the top ten, why would he have to go home?
I agree, the 84 team is not very good right now. The ONLY reason they are even making races is because of Mike. When they go to race trim the car stinks. Hopefully they will be able to improve that with time. I hope you guys prove me wrong next weekend and AJ makes the race, but I have my doubts.

actually aj did qualify top 10 and went home. research the facts before. all the toyota go or go homers came with a supeb engine package, so yes he did qualify top 10 and went home.

October 2007. AJ qualified 9th at Talladega and had to go home because the 8 guys that qualified ahead of him were also go-or-go-homers.

http://www.nascar.com/races/cup
/2007/30/data/lineup.html

AJ got beaten by 6 Toyota's. 3 of those 6 Toyota's are currently in the top 35, 1 (#27) doesn't run anymore.

AJ will make it this year. I have no doubts.

Hmmm...so you are telling me that the top 9 qualifiers in a race were ALL go or go homers? I find that VERY hard to believe.

sounds like you didn't follow the 2007 season at all. i posted the link. it was the first COT race at a restrictor plate track, BV qualified 3rd. Blaney 2nd, Waltrip 1st.

I think the economic downturn in the United States is good for TRB. There will be fewer and fewer teams we have to beat on a weekly basis to get into the races.

It doesn't matter what races we get into if we run 35th, though.

WE WANT AJ BACK....Mike isn't doing anything to help the team. It is TRUE B.S. the way AJ was screwed over for a WORSE dirver!

Adam, you are sorely mistaken if you think AJ is a better driver then Mike Skinner. At least Skinner gets the car in the race. Some of you are wearing some real rose-colored glasses when it comes to AJ. He will be gone by the end of the season.
